Weekly Update

So as far as updates go this week we don't really have a whole lot so sorry about that but whatever. Here we go:

Gaming News
So as you guys know I just got Portal 2 and I began a Let's play of the entire game. Right now we're on episode 5 so if you missed any episode just check out my channel and get caught up on all that. We'll also be doing some multiplayer/co-op for portal so be sure to look out for that. We also might start doing some Age of Empires videos so if that sounds interesting to you please comment below. Other than that no real games have come out recently so expect the usual from this channel.

Media News
So for Media News this week it's pretty much the same as last week. We're still working on that Reach Machinima called "The Bounty Hunter Chronicles" and still planning out the "Colors of War" filming. Other than that we may be doing a lightsaber duel with special effects and stuff so be sure to look out for that but otherwise that's basically media for this week.

Other News
As you all know I got the new "Blue Mic - Yeti Mic" this week and the quality is amazing so I've been having lots of fun with that. I'm also looking into getting an HD PVR which is a capture card that records really nice HD footage from an XBOX, Video Camera, and other things. The problem is its 200 dollars so that's a lot of money for someone without a job but we'll see in time if we can afford that. Other then that I've been working on a book that includes basically everything in the Star Wars timeline so maybe I'll publish that here once its done.

Thanks everyone for reading and hope to see you all here next week!
May the force be with you,
Zionoth

Star Wars - History Lesson 1

The Mandalorian Wars

4 Thousand years before the rise of Darth Vader, the famed Sith Lord Exar Kun had retreated into his temple on Yavin 4 and became a force spirit which ended the Great Sith War. Roughly 30-40 years later surviving Sith in deep space came to the Mandalorians and convinced them to go fight with the Republic. The Mandalorians were convinced and so being led by Mandalore the Ultimate, they launched an attack on the Republic. Before they did this however, they went from planet to planet outside the Republics jurisdiction and conquered it. This gave the Mandalorians much needed wealth and resources. The Republic couldn't intervene since the planets being conquered were not under the control of the Republic. Mandalore then launched his attacks on the Republic. The Republic at first didn't see them as a true threat but soon learned the might of the Mandalorian Empire as hundreds of there worlds burned.

The Republic pleaded with the Jedi to help but the council preached patience and thought of alternatives to all out war. This is when the Jedi Knight Revan and his Apprentice Malak gathered many Jedi Knights and lead them to war, putting aside what their masters told them. Revan was a war genius. He began to lead the Republic to countless victories on all fronts. The Mandalorians were beaten but there was still one last move the Republic had to play. Revan pushed the Mandalorian forces back to Malachor V. Malachor was a world feared by the Mandalorians for centuries and was off limits to them and Revan knew this all too well. The full might of the Republic and the Mandalorian armies fought in the skies and on the ground of Malachor V. It was evident the Mandalorians would lose being that they were out numbered five to one. Revan boarded Mandalores flag ship and slew him single handedly. The Republic won the battle and the Mandalorians were stripped of their weapons, ammo, and armor.

Revan was a hero but he still defied the Jedi Council. However, he never faced justice among the order because he never returned. He and Malak left Republic space with a third of the Republic fleet claiming to be searching for the remnants of the Mandalorian Crusaders. Though that was not his true intention. You see, Revan was about to encounter something much darker and more powerful than the Mandalorians could have ever hoped to be...

Pirates 4 - On Stranger Tides

Me, Malgus, and another friend of mine went to see Pirates 4 on opening day and it was freaking amazing! I loved it so much and would recommend it to anyone who likes a good swashbuckling adventure film with comic relief.

Warning! The following contains spoilers! Don't read if you haven't watched the movie yet!

The biggest thing that stood out to me was the usage of Jack as the main character. What I mean by that is in the first movie, Jack was a side character and Will was the main character. In the second and third, the role of the main character was used by Jack, Will and Elizabeth. In this newer movie Jack becomes the main character because Elizabeth and Will are no longer in the films. To me, this was a great move! Jack is a much funnier and interesting character so this was one of the best things to me. One other thing was that Jack was not in a captain role in this movie. This surprised me and quite honestly I was looking forward to seeing him lead his crew into battle but instead he served on the crew of Black Beard for a good portion of the movie but of course he had his own motives. This didn't bug me though. They actually pulled this off quite nicely if I do say so myself. But anyway it was an interesting spin to see Jack without the role of Captain (of course he had the title) "There should be a captain in there somewhere."

Another thing that stood out to me was that there were no ship to ship battles like there were in Pirates 3. I must be honest, I missed this dearly but the reason of its absence was financial issues. Disney granted Pirates 3 a 300 Million dollar budget where as this movie was given a 25 Million Budget so they had to use there money wisely and you can no doubt tell there were not as many gigantic fighting scenes as there were in the third due to the lacking of funds. Disney didn't grant them as much money because of the recession so blame Obama. The only thing that stood out as "bad" or not up to speed with the rest of the movie was the love story between the Mermaid and Phillip the Missionary. I personally favored this and actually liked the whole love story between them but the ending was a bit dramatic and could have been shorter in my opinion. It was my counter parts who disliked the love theme all together. Where I thought it assisted the overall theme and plot to the movie they thought it was plain old stupid so you'll have to be the judge of that.

Anyway I still loved the movie and will be seeing it a few more times in theaters this weekend so please leave your thoughts on the movie below because I love to hear all of your perspecitves on these things.
